In 2003, Our Pal's Place rescue organization was founded. In 2004, we opened the doors to our first Pet Adoption Facility, and in 2005, bought our current property at 4508 Canton Road in Marietta. Our mission is to bring about a time when all animals are treated with kindness and compassion. Our operations consist of rescuing orphaned pets from "death row" in county shelters and adopting them into homes. Equally as important to our operations is our education and training programs that teach solutions to the problems animals face. Our largest education program is Camp O.P.P. which is conducted June-July. Our Pet Adoption Facility is a 501(c)3 non-profit that is volunteer-based with no paid staff. All donations made to our rescue goes directly to helping homeless pets housed in our facility. <Visit Us>
Camp O.P.P. offers fun-filled, week long camp programs June-July where kids play with orphaned dogs and cats housed in our Pet Adoption Facility, participate in activities that help homeless pets and learn about solutions to the problems they face. Camp O.P.P. offers 4 different camp programs for rising 4th - 8th graders and 1 program specific for rising 7th - 9th graders. Our signature camp, Kindness & Compassion for All Animals, provides hands-on activities with rescued dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds and ferrets. Camp O.P.P. is conducted in our Learning Center which is on the same property as our Pet Adoption Facility at 4508 Canton Road in Marietta. <Learn More>
Our Pal's Place opened the ReHome Superstore in 2016 to generate more revenue to help the orphaned pets housed in our Pet Adoption Facility. The ReHome Superstore is an upscale thrift store that accepts like new or gently used donations and resales them with proceeds going to the animals. For example, in just a few months we raised over $4,000 for heartworm treatments! Our store is located just 3.5 miles south on Canton Road from our Pet Adoption Facility at 2568 Canton Road, Marietta, GA. <Check us out!>
In May 2020, Our Pal's Place is opening Daycare, Boarding & Training (DB&T) operations. Since this is what we do for dogs housed in our Pet Adoption Facility, we decided to offer our skills to the public and our adopting families. The proceeds from DB&T operations will be used to support and expand our rescue operations. We will provide the same love, time and attention to our guest dogs as we do for the ones we so dearly love in our Pet Adoption Facility. Our DB&T facility is located just 2 miles north of our Pet Adoption Facility at 9533 Main Street in Woodstock, GA.
