Camp O.P.P. - For Kids & Their Dogs

Our Pal's Place has hosted Camp O.P.P., a youth summer camp, since 2007. <Learn More>  This Winter Break, we are adding a new spin to Camp O.P.P. making it specific to teaching kids how to train their dogs.

Day 1: Dog Language & Training Basics

The first day of any Camp O.P.P. is spent learning how dogs communicate. It is important to not only understand your own dog, but also to be safe when interacting with other people's dogs.  Next, to prep for a week of training, Clicker Training basics will be taught through games and practice with the rescue dogs in our Pet Adoption Facility. The day will conclude with each camper determining what they want to teach their own dog for the remainder of the week.

The first day of camp will be hosted in the Learning Center of our Pet Adoption Facility located at 4508 Canton Road in Marietta.

Day 2-4: Training

Over the next three days, each camper and their dog will sign-up for individual training with our Director, Amanda Wilkinson. Each training will be 60 minutes and will conclude with instructions on how the camper can practice with their dog what was learned at home.

Training will be conducted at our Daycare, Boarding & Training facility located at 9533 Main Street in Woodstock (2 miles north of our Pet Adoption Facility).

Day 5: Talent Show

The last training session with Amanda will be creating and practicing a routine for our virtual talent show.  The routine will be recorded and then posted on our website for viewing.
